Jalyn Spencer, known professionally as ï¼³Íï¼².SPΞNCΣï¼², is a Chicago-born bassist, musical arranger, and producer.

He began his musical journey on violin and cello before teaching himself bass at 15, learning by ear through listening and imitation. This early training developed the strong ear he still relies on today. He later expanded his musicianship by learning to read sheet music while performing in orchestra.

A highly versatile player, ï¼³Íï¼².SPΞNCΣï¼² performs across genres including R&B, rock, hip hop, pop, jazz, gospel, and neo-soul. His credits include features on multiple albums, live recordings, and EPs, as well as a Billboard Gospel Airplay #1 for James Greer & Company’s “Do It Again.” Through touring and live performances, he has performed across the country in states including Illinois, New York, California, Wisconsin, Missouri, Ohio, and Nevada.

Through extensive church and live performance work, he has accompanied artists such as Anita Wilson, Byron Cage, Darnell Davis & The Remnant, James Greer & Company, Jamar Esaw & Triad: 4 Christ, FM2 Intentional, Kierra Sheard-Kelly, Kim Burrell, Mike Bereal, Antwaun Cooks, and many others. He has also played behind Minnesota-based artists such as MMYYKK, BiG HOMiE, Omar Abdulkarim, and Greg Grease, as well as internationally known performers including Bebe Zahara Benet, Juju Rogers and Marisha Wallace. His notable appearances include Netflix’s Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party, a private performance for UFC President Dana White, and numerous shows and residencies at Twin Cities venues including Dakota Jazz Club, Icehouse, Jazz Central, First Avenue & 7th St Entry, and Walker West Music Academy. He has also been featured multiple times on The Current and Boiler Room, and has performed at Paisley Park, Minneapolis’ first AfroPunk Festival, and the George Floyd vigil and gala. While best known for electric bass, he also plays synth/key bass, upright bass, acoustic bass, electric and acoustic guitar, and talk box.
